The Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system detects an unintended lane departure or is unavailable because of a camera, calibration, or system fault.

Why did lane departure warning stop working?
Usually the camera cannot read the road. Faded or wet markings, low sun, snow cover, and a dirty or chipped patch of windscreen in front of the camera all switch it off temporarily.
Does windscreen replacement affect lane departure warning?
Yes, and this catches many owners out. The camera looks through the glass, so after a replacement it must be recalibrated or the lane detection will be off-aim or disabled entirely.
How is a lane departure fault diagnosed?
The camera view through the windscreen is inspected and cleaned, and the road markings themselves are considered, since faded lines are often the real cause. The ADAS module is then scanned, camera alignment and calibration status are checked, and the wiring and network communication are inspected.
